Demo dataset: company profiles are fictional and illustrate the product.

Methodology

Methodology

How Kim Üretir verifies data, how aggregates and company indices are computed, and what the data can and cannot tell you.

Demonstration data — companies on this page are fictional.

Verification levels

Every company, machine, capability and certificate carries one of three levels. In aggregates, “verified” means document- or factory-verified unless stated otherwise.

  • Factory verified

    A Kim Üretir engineer visited the facility and confirmed this on site.

  • Document verified

    Confirmed from documents (invoices, certificates, photos) submitted by the company.

  • Unverified

    Self-declared by the company and not yet reviewed.

Company indices

Indices use public profile data only, are versioned, and are returned by the API with the method tag sp-indices@1. Values are integers from 0 to 100. REF is the year of the computation date; q is the declared quantity of a machine row.

Per-company values: https://kimuretir.com/api/v1/companies/{slug}/indices

Machine-park modernitymmi@1

Quantity-weighted modernity of the machines that declare a year: each unit loses value linearly and reaches 0 at 20 years, a typical economic life for CNC equipment. Shown as n/a when fewer than 3 units have a year, or when fewer than half of the units have one.

aᵢ = max(0, REF − yᵢ)
sᵢ = 100 × max(0, 1 − aᵢ / 20)
MMI = Σ qᵢ·sᵢ / Σ qᵢ   (rows with a year)
n/a if Σ qᵢ < 3 or year coverage < 0.5

Also reported: quantity-weighted mean age, median age, share of units aged 5 years or less, share older than 15 years, and year coverage.

Automationauto@1

Breadth of the automation families present (robotic, multi-axis, additive, automated inspection) plus the weighted share of automated units, which saturates at 25 %. Sector-specific automated equipment counts toward the share only. Compare values within a sector: automation in textiles and in aerospace is not comparable in absolute terms.

share = Σ qᵢ·w(kᵢ) / Σ qᵢ
breadth = |{ROBOTIC, MULTI_AXIS, ADDITIVE, AUTO_INSPECTION} present|  (0–4)
AUTO = 60 × breadth / 4 + 40 × min(1, share / 0.25)

Certification breadthcert@1

Points per valid certificate, weighted by its verification level. A certificate without an expiry date counts at half weight; expired certificates are excluded and flagged.

validity = 1 (expiry ≥ today) · 0.5 (no expiry) · excluded (expired)
CERT = min(100, 100 × Σ points × multiplier × validity / 10)

Export readinessexport@1

Points for export practice and foreign-trade readiness. A component leaves the denominator while its field is not collected for any company; today this applies to payment terms, export documents and the capacity report.

EXPORT = 100 × Σ earned / Σ available   (components with collected fields only)

Provinces, regions and industrial zones

  • Provinces are keyed by ISO 3166-2 codes (e.g. TR-41 Kocaeli). Province counts are distinct codes, not address spellings.
  • Regions are Türkiye's seven geographic regions. Statistical NUTS regions are planned.
  • Industrial zones are resolved from the address text through a registry of zone names and spellings; the address itself is never changed. “OSB” (Organised Industrial Zone) is kept as-is in every language.
  • Province and zone pages exist only where at least one profile is published. Charts and shares on zone pages appear from 3 companies.

HS codes and evidence

  • Company-declared: the company lists the HS code (or a more specific one) on one of its products.
  • Product family: the company makes a catalogue product family that carries the code and did not declare codes of its own for it, or declared only the 4-digit heading.
  • Process capability only: the company runs the primary process of a matching product family. This is a lead, not evidence of the product.
  • Codes are matched at HS level (4 or 6 digits). National tariff digits beyond 6 are ignored.

Data caveats

  • Self-selected population: only companies that published a profile are covered. No national shares can be inferred.
  • Each company is counted once, under its primary sector.
  • Processes are derived from machine tags and capability entries; they are not declared separately.
  • Machine counts use declared unit quantities; years of manufacture are declared by the operator.
  • Export markets are destinations declared by companies, not customs statistics.
  • All records share one snapshot; there are no time series yet.
  • Sector volume labels are the sector teams' estimates, not measurements.
